Welcome to the Website for 26th Annual SJIFT Scholarship Golf Classic!

Welcome!

We are the San Joaquin Section of the Institute of Food Technologists, just one of over 50 regional sections of this non-profit scientific society also known as the IFT. Members of this organization represent all areas of the food industry, from manufacturing to consumer goods to research and development and so much more. What’s better, is that anyone with an interest in the food industry is welcomed!

Every year, the San Joaquin Section hosts their main fund-raising event, the Scholarship Golf Classic. Over the past 25 years, we have been fortunate to raise over $200,000 to use towards scholarships, equipment, and other means of financial support of students at CSU Fresno in the Food Science and Technology and related majors and minors.

This year, we are back out at Dragonfly Golf Club, a beautiful links-style course designed by internationally renowned golf course architect, Gary Roger Baird. From the back tees, Dragonfly is the 4th longest course in California. It boosts a lot of beautiful water features, runs along the San Joaquin River, and was voted as the #1 rated course in the Fresno area by the Fresno Business Journal.

This year’s tournament is being held on Thursday, October 10th with a 10:30am shotgun start. After game play we will have a delicious steak dinner, present awards, and hold our raffles.

We look forward to seeing you all back again this year for another great day of golfing!

This creation by internationally renowned golf course designer, Gary Roger Baird, provides a challenging design for any skill level. The course includes large rolling fairways, over 80 sand and waste bunkers, and six water hazards, all surrounded by the beauty of the San Joaquin River habitat and views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Dragonfly has no houses, no traffic noise, and no parallel fairways, meaning those who come to play or practice will find themselves in one of the most serene settings in all of golf.
