6th Annual Golf Classic

We're excited again host the Jimmy Sumas Golf Classic at our NEW venue Fiddler's Elbow Golf Club on September 22, 2025. Each year we get the opportunity to honor the memory of Jimmy Sumas, who was and still is a legend amongst grocers, by enjoying an amazing day of golf and giving back to those in need.

Also New this Year! With the addition of a new course, we’re excited to host our first Pickleball Tournament for those who prefer paddling to putting. The round-robin style tournament will begin at 10:30 AM and promises to be a fun and spirited addition to the day’s festivities.

All net proceeds from the Jimmy Sumas Golf Classic go to the Sumas Family Foundation, which supports a variety of local charities. Some of the core beneficiaries to the Foundation include The New Jersey Sharing Network, Autism Speaks, Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation, Community Food Bank of NJ, ALS, Cycle for Survival, The Valerie Fund, and the Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. We also provide over two dozen community grants to local non-profits who are making a difference in the areas we serve. We look forward to seeing you for this great event this year!

Fiddler's Elbow has emerged from a successful evolution as a long time corporate club, catering exclusively to movers and shakers in the state, to a blended or hybrid club where families, individuals and business people co-exist in a lifestyle like no other.

The beautiful property is divided between Somerset and Hunterdon Counties by the winding and twisting waters of the Lamington River, a branch of the Black River. Throughout the late 19th century and the early 1920s, much of the property was planted in intricate peach orchards, a business operated by one-time New Jersey Congressman James Nelson Pidcock. In the 1920s, the land was part of the 20,000 acres that made up the elegant estate of investment banker Clarence Dillon and his wife, Anne. When the Dillons divested much of their land holdings in 1935, they sold 530 acres along both sides of the Black River to family friends—investment banker Frederick Strong Moseley Jr. and his wife, Jane Hamilton Brady.
