Welcome to the Kahkwa Club and the
2025 Erie Insurance Charity Challenge
The Erie Insurance Charity Challenge returns on June 9, 2025. We have raised over $2M over the lifetime of the Charity Challenge, both Erie and Allentown.
Each foursome will be asked to select a local 501c3 nonprofit charity and will compete to win prize money for their charity. The team entry is $4,000.
What makes this tournament unique is that every dollar of the entry fee goes to charity, while the costs of the tournament itself are entirely underwritten by Erie Insurance. Through your generosity, local charities will receive thousands of dollars in needed funding.
After 18 holes of camaraderie in a Shamble (2 Best Balls of 4) tournament format, the first-prize winning foursome will be determined by the lowest gross score. While the first-place team will receive the highest dollar contribution to their charity, no team will walk away without a generous donation to the charity of their choice.

Donald Ross, fame architect of Pinehurst was engaged to lay out the links at Kahkwa. In the early days, as in Scotland, the holes were known by names as well as numbers. Among the early golfers at Kahkwa, number 12 was referred to as "Long Tom;" Number 13 was "School House;" and Number 3 was the traditional "Pond." Upon completion of the original nine holes, with the help of Theron R. Palmer and others, property was acquired east of the entry road so that the present first nine holes could be built. The first nine holes are now the second nine of the present course. Those holes were laid out by Donald Ross as well.
